HYMN SPOTLIGHT
Satisfied with Jesus (1926)
Baylus Benjamin McKinney, 1886-1952
The author of both the text and tune, McKinney wrote about the composition of this hymn: “I shall never forget the Saturday afternoon when this song was written. When I thought of what He had done for me and how little I had done for Him, I became dissatisfied with my own little life. Out of a sincere longing for a deeper life, I wrote with little effort the words and the music. I had a new fellowship with Christ that afternoon. But I am still dissatisfied with my life. No Christian should ever be satisfied until we awake in His likeness.
